Steamed Taro Root

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 2 medium/large tomatoes

  • 2 dry chilis

  • 1 kg taro root

  • 5 curry leaves

  • 10 g ginger

  • Salt


Procedure

  1. Peel the taro root.

  2. Chop the taro root and tomatoes. Finely cut the chili, onion, ginger and garlic cloves.

  3. Rinse the taro root in water.

  4. Start with frying the onion, ginger, curry leaves and garlic in a frying pan, until they (except curry leaves) get a light brown colour.

  5. Then add the tomato, taro root and 1 dL of water.

  6. Next add salt to taste and cut chili.

  7. Steam the mixture at medium-high heat, under a lid.


Enjoy! You can now use it in rice dishes for example.
