Steamed Chestnut Pumpkin

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 1-2 dry chilies

  • 2 medium/large tomatoes

  • 1 small/medium chestnut pumpkin

  • 5 curry leaves

  • 10 g ginger

  • Salt


Procedure

  1. Cut the chestnut pumpkin into cubes. Chop the tomatoes, and finely cut the onion, garlic, chillies and ginger.

  2. Rinse the chestnut pumpkin in water.

  3. Fry the onion, garlic, ginger and curry leaves to light brown colour (except curry leaves).

  4. Add the tomato, chestnut pumpkin, salt to taste and chilli.

  5. Steam under a lid at medium to high heat. While cooking, mash the ingredients.


Tip:

A regular pumpkin can be used instead of the chestnut pumpkin.
