Smokey Tofu Sandwich

Ingredients

  1. 200 g Extra Firm Tofu

  2. 1 Tbsp Olive Oil

  3. 4 Tbsp Tamari Sauce

  4. 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

  5. 1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika

  6. 1/2 Tsp Salt

  7. 200 g Tomatoes

  8. 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper

  9. 8 Iceberg Lettuce Leaves

  10. 1/2 Tbsp Vegan Mayo

  11. 160 g Whole Wheat Toast

  12. 50 g Vegan Protein Powder


Procedure

  1. Cut tofu into thin rectangular slices.

  2. Set a large frying pan over medium/high heat. Add olive oil when hot.

  3. Fry the tofu along with salt, and flip to make both sides golden brown.

  4. While the tofu is frying, mix the Tamari, pure maple syrup, and smoked paprika in a small bowl.

  5. When the tofu is ready, make the heat low and pour the Mix on top.

  6. Continue frying until the sauce is reduced and has become thicker.

  7. Put the tofu on a plate.

  8. Toast the bread and spread the insides with vegan mayonnaise.

  9. Slice tomatoes and add to bread; sprinkle salt and ground black pepper.

  10. Add the tofu and lettuce.

  11. Top with remaining slice of bread.

  12. Cut in half.

  13. Mix protein powder with water to accompany the meal with a protein shake.
